HARRISON, N.Y. Con Edison crews spent the morning finishing the installation of a temporary shunt into a Halstead Avenue business.
Crews began work installing the temporary shunt a device that allows electricity to flow to prevent short-circuiting to Casa DItalia at 265 Halstead Ave. on April 17, digging a new line to install it.
Today, crews were busy in the basement of the building, working to install the shunt as they coned off the area around the cellar. The walkway in front of four businesses (271-265 Halstead Ave.) remained opened, though sections including the parking spaces directly in front of the businesses were blocked off to allow crews to work.
Con Edison workers said they do not expect to return to this project after the work is done today.
