HARRISON, N.Y. – Con Edison crews are finishing up work in Harrison on a temporary shunt for a business on Halstead Avenue.

Crews were up early Tuesday digging a new line for Casa D’Italia located at 265 Halstead Ave. to install the temporary shunt, a device that allows electricity to flow to prevent short circuiting. Crews were jackhammering asphalt from City Cuts at 271 Halstead Ave. to Casa D’Italia Tuesday morning, temporarily closing a section of the sidewalk in front of the businesses. The walkway remained open.

Con Edison crew members said they will return to the site later in the week to finish the job.
