Dead Dogs, Cats Found Off Hutch in Harrison

HARRISON, N.Y. – Westchester County Police are investigating the discovery of over 30 dead dogs and cats and a South American lizard that were found in garbage bags on the Westchester Avenue on-ramp of the Hutchinson River Parkway at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 5.

According to a published report, the bags of the dead animals were found mostly within 5 feet of the roadway. Dogs were bagged individually but some cats were thrown in the same bag.

Anyone with information is being urged to call the Westchester County Police Department at 1-800-898-8477 or the SPCA law enforcement hotline at 914-941-7797.

Can you go from the Bronx to Mohegan Lake on the Hutch?

No. The Hutch runs from the border of Connecticut into the Bronx. To get to Mohegan Lake you would have to take 684 to the Taconic to the Bear Mountain State Parkway.
