The State University Board of Trustees will be voting at 12:30 p.m. on whether to close LICH. The board had previously voted in favor of closing the hospital, but the decision was overturned Thursday by State Supreme Court Justice Johnny Baynes, who said that the trustees violated the state's Open Meetings Law.

Doctors, nurses and caregivers from the hospital will gather with members of the Cobble Hill Association, Friends of Sunset Park, the Carroll Gardens Neighborhood Association, the Brooklyn Heights Association, National Action Network and New York Communities for Change. They will speak about the importance that LICH has played in the health of Brooklyn's community for the past 150 years. The event will begin at noon before the trustees vote.
