You can stop by the clerk's office in the Municipal Building, 1 Heineman Place, and buy the pass for $25. Then, mount the tag in your vehicle and start using it immediately to start saving 5 percent on tolls. Be sure to follow instructions included on how and where to mount the tag.

You must register the tag within 48 hours of its first use by going online or calling 1-800-697-1554. Once the tag is registered, the $25 will be moved to your E-Z Pass account.

How do I put more money on the tag after I use the initial $25? When you register your tag, you will be prompted to select either an automatic credit card replenishment or a check or cash replenishment.
Where can I use E-Z Pass? There are 15 states, including New York, in the E-Z Pass network.
Will I get an E-Z Pass statement? Yes, your statement will detail all trips by date, location, toll amounts, as well as any payments made.
