HARRISON, N.Y. -- Police hope that data from the late Glen Hochman's computer may yield new details about why the retired White Plains police officer murdered two of his three daughters before killing himself on Feb. 21, according to LoHud.com

Although the hard drive was smashed and stashed in a bin under a pile of wires and electronic equipment, Harrison investigators believe data can still be retrieved from it. Because it was apparently purposely removed from the computer and hidden, Marraccini told LoHud it may contain significant information.

Hochman, 52, shot his two youngest daughters, Alissa, 17, and Deanna, 13, as they slept, while his wife and 22-year-old daughter were out of town. Hochman, who retired from the White Plains Police Department after 20 years in January, killed the family's three dogs, typed a lengthy suicide note on the computer and shot himself in the garage.

Marraccini said the five-page suicide letter indicated "the two girls were taken away," and explained to his wife what she "needed to do to get things in order for the family."
