More than two weeks after Hurricane Sandy struck the tri-state region, 103 customers remain without power in Westchester County. Con Edison serves 348,198 customers in Westchester, including 9,470 in Harrison.

The company had said power should be restored to all Harrison customers by Tuesday night at 10. However, the estimated restoration time is now pending for the five customers still in the dark.

Con Edison CEO Kevin Burke apologized to his Westchester and New York City customers for the delay at a press conference

“I am sorry for what happened. I am very sorry for what happened,” Burke said. “We’ve worked on this very hard. We made a significant number of improvements after Hurricane Irene. Unfortunately, this one came in so much greater than what we were planning for.”

The company has been helped by utility crews from around the country, including crews from California and Texas, to deal with the worst power-outage storm in its history.
