HARRISON, N.Y. Five local teens have been charged in a brutal beating and robbery of a Port Chester man last Saturday night on Harrison's Winfield Avenue, according to police.
Police said the victim was lured into a poorly lit location in downtown Harrison before being beaten with clubs and sawed-off lacrosse sticks, leaving him blacked out on the sidewalk. The teenagers attacked the victim as he got out of his car and stole $100 from him, his cell phone, shoes and various items of jewelry, police said.
The 21-year-old victim suffered serious injuries including bruises and cuts to his head, police said, and remained in White Plains Hospital Tuesday in stable condition.
Police said the beating stemmed from the Port Chester man talking to a teenage girl on Facebook. The teenage girl had eventually lost contact with the victim, leaving only a phone number for what police said was disguised as another woman interested in meeting. Police said the number likely belonged to one of the five arrested teenagers.
Further details have not been released.
According to Harrison investigators, the man was initially found by police after a patrol officer stopped him on Pleasant Ridge Road in Harrison after noticing he had difficulty driving.
The five suspected teens that were arrested in relation to the beating were charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree gang assault, four of which were Harrison residents. Though four of the five teenagers' names were not released due to their age, police identified Prince Lee, 19, of Harrison to be one of the involved suspects.
The other four teenagers included a 15-year-old girl from Rye, and a 15-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy from Harrison, police said. All five suspects were released on $10,000 cash bond each after they were arraigned in Harrison Town Court Tuesday morning with a return court date of April 3.
