Flooding, Accidents, Fallen Tree Cause Traffic Tie-Ups In Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- It was a slow go on several area roadways Saturday.

An accident on northbound I-684 between I-287 and Route 120 resulted in stop-and-go traffic. The accident was reported at 1:30 p.m.

Traffic on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway between the Cross County Parkway (Exit 15) and Mill Road (Exit 18) in New Rochelle was also stop-and-go as a result of flooding that began around 12:15 p.m.

A fallen tree on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway caused stop-and-go traffic between Kimball Avenue and Route 100 in an incident that occurred at 2:10 p.m.

An earlier multi-vehicle accident on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway in Ardsley caused delays south of Dobbs Ferry Road in Ardsley. The accident was reported at 12:30 p.m.

There were backups on the northbound Taconic State Pakrway in Yorktown following an accident between FDR State Park and Route 202/35 in Yorktown that occurred around 12:20 p.m.

In Putnam, an accident on westbound I-84 between Saw Mill Road (Exit 1) and Route 121 (Exit 21)  resulted in slow traffic. The accident occurred at 12:27 p.m.
