Galasso To Be Named Harrison Citizen Of The Year

HARRISON, N.Y. – Lifelong Harrison resident Nick Galasso will be announced as the 29th Annual Harrison “Citizen of the Year” Award winner during Thursday’s town board meeting.

“[He is] a wonderful role model for our residents,” said department of recreation superintendent Gerry Salvo. “His many years of service to the children of Harrison and continuous commitment to the sports program make him an honorable citizen which the town can be proud of.”

Galasso, who was nominated by a fellow citizen and picked by a committee, will be presented with a plaque during the “It’s Great to Live in Harrison” Celebration on Oct. 8.

The meeting will also include a public hearing on a special exception use permit for the Old Oaks Country Club. The Club would like to have material storage bins on their grounds.

Life Time Fitness attorney Frank McCullough will request Oct. 4 as the date for a public hearing. The public hearing will include a “franchise agreement between the Town of Harrison and Life Time Fitness for a new monument sign by the end of Gannett Drive, as well as related lighting utilities and landscaping improvements.” Gannett Drive is a town road.
