HARRISON, N.Y. - A new art exhibit is coming to the Harrison Public Library through the month of January.
"PLACE + Images of built and natural environments" by David F. Donnelly will be on display at the downtown library from Jan. 8 through Feb. 3, courtesy of the Harrison Council for the Arts. An opening reception will be held Jan. 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the library.
Donnelly has explored the field of visual communications in a variety of capacities throughout his career, the council said. With a background in video, Donnelly's work has also appeared on PBS stations across the country. He has also written on popular press images of the future and other media-related topics and has contributed to eight books and numerous scholarly and popular press publications.
Through his career, Donnelly has worked in higher education for over two decades as a both a professor of communications and dean.
Donnelly holds an M.A. and a PhD in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a B.A. in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Maryland.
The exhibit will be on display Monday and Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For information call (914) 835-0324 or visit www.harrisonpl.org .
