HARRISON, N.Y. -- A Harrison native spending his summer playing baseball in Alaska tops this weeks news.
- Harrison High School graduate Max Bruckner will pitch for the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks as part of the Alaska Baseball League this summer. He will also participate in ministries as part of Athletes in Action.
- Gov. Andrew Cuomo discussed his plan START-UP NY at Purchase College on Thursday. The initiative would turn SUNY campuses into tax-free communities to encourage more businesses to stay in New York.
- Yankees closer and Harrison resident Mariano Rivera was drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters on Tuesday. He was among five players selected, including Brittney Griner, the first pick in the 2013 WNBA draft.
