Harrison Clerk Holding Extended Office Hours

Harrison Town Clerk Jackie Greer will have extended office hours tonight to serve residents who can’t make it into the office during the day.

Greer said she will close the office tonight at 5 p.m. and reopen it from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The late office hours coincide with scheduled Planning Board meetings every fourth Tuesday of the month. Greer said that since the building is open anyway and security would be there regardless, it makes sense to be open at this time.

“There are a lot of people who work during my office hours and can’t make it,” Greer said. “I still offer any service at night that the clerk’s office performs regularly.”

Greer said that the first time she held late office hours in January, the majority of visitors came to buy parking permits. She said that attendance at the late office hours increased in February. Greer added that she is also available by appointment and will travel to people’s homes if need be.
