HARRISON, N.Y. - A Harrison Democratic Party district leader was arraigned Tuesday morning on charges that she ordered unsolicited pizza deliveries to the home of Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh.
Maria Polera pleaded not guilty to charges of harassment and theft of services and was released without bail. She ran for receiver of taxes on the same ticket as Walsh twice in the past five years and lost both times.
George Galgano represented Polera as her lawyer as she was arraigned in the Harrison Town Court.
Polera was serving as the Democratic Party's district leader but may no longer hold the position, according to Town Attorney Robert Paladino. Her return court date is scheduled for Aug. 9.
