HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh said in a column that the town's engineering department created a Twitter page to keep residents informed about stormwater issues.
"There are so many streams flowing throughout the town that there aren't easy or inexpensive solutions," Walsh said. "Not everyone is in a flood zone, but enough of the town is within one that this information will be of value to many."
Walsh said that Town Engineer Mike Amodeo and his staff created the Twitter account in late March and have since become more active in posting. Updates have included tips on how to combat floodwaters entering the home, information on registering for federal aid after storms, and updates on the town's flooding status.
