HARRISON, N.Y. - Denise Murphy's son Michael is a senior at Harrison High School and plays for the school's popular Huskies football team. While Michael Murphy spends his week preparing for one of the biggest games of the year, his mother took to the streets to spread Huskies pride.
"This is our year," Denise Murphy said as she stood behind a Harrison Football T-shirt booth at "It's Great to Live in Harrison" Day's Ma Riis Park festival. "I'm feeling good about it."
Murphy sold T-shirts to residents of Harrison that read, "The streak ends here," and "This is our house," in anticipation of Saturday's heated Harrison vs. Rye football game.
The Harrison-Rye rivalry has been coined by most Westchester residents as one of the more popular and noteworthy games of the high school football season. This year's game will be played at Harrison High School for the first time at McGillicuddy Stadium, with kick-off set for 1:30 p.m.
Murphy's T-shirts will be available in adult sizes only including small, medium, large, extra-large and double extra-large. Cash or checks can be made out to Harrison Football.
For more information, residents can contact Murphy at (914) 906-1041 or by email at DMurph@us.ibm.com.
