HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison native Jacqueline Greer was named the new town clerk candidate by local Republicans after former incumbent Joseph Acocella died earlier this month. Acocella was running for his third term before he died.
She will run against Frank Corvino in the November election.
The decision was made after an intense interviewing process by the party. State law mandated that a new candidate be named within 10 days of Acocella's death.
Greer grew up in Harrison and graduated from Harrison High School. She also comes from a family history of public service with her father having served on the Harrison Police Department and her mother with the school district.
