HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison police reported three driving while intoxicated arrests through January, according to police reports released Friday, including a Bronx resident.
Maryann Emerick, 24 of 88 Marine St. in the Bronx, was charged with DWI after police caught her driving 80 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone on Mamaroneck Ave., reports said. After police reported the odor of alcohol on her breath, she failed a field sobriety test and was found to have a .17 blood alcohol content level close to 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 14.
The legal limit in New York State is .08. Emerick was released on bail with a return court date of Jan. 31.
Similar to Emerick, Harrison police stopped Amela Sujak, 24 of 2075 38 St. in Astoria, close to 10 p.m. on Jan. 15 after she was seen speeding on Mamaroneck Avenue. After failing a field sobriety test, she was arrested and charged with DWI with a blood alcohol content of .16. She was released on bail with a return court date of Jan. 31.
Police reports also included the arrest of Massachusetts resident Victor Maffei, 74, who faced a DWI charge after an accident on Westchester Ave. Police arrived to the scene of the accident after 2 p.m. Jan. 7. The smell of alcohol on his breath led police to conduct a field sobriety test, which reports said he failed.
Maffei, of 2 King Phillip Rd., Glouscester, MA, was found to have a blood alcohol content of .13. He was released on bail with a return court date of Jan. 24.
