Harrison Police Offer $10G Reward in Armed Robbery

HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison Police are currently investigating an armed robbery near the Harrison Train Station that occurred around midnight Tuesday morning.

According to Police Chief Anthony Marraccini, the suspect, believed to be a black male wearing a dark-colored ski mask and dark clothing, pulled a handgun on a male Harrison resident on Harrison Avenue near the intersection of Park Avenue. The victim was coming home from his daily commute when he was accosted, police said.

Marraccini said a $10,000 reward is being offered for capture of the suspect.

Marraccini said Harrison Police have added more patrol to the train station and the surrounding area. Marraccini said that the department had a similar circumstance happen on Feb. 9 and said that other surrounding municipalities like New Rochelle, Pelham and Mamaroneck have experienced similar crimes. But police said they do not know if the crimes are connected.

“This is an unfortunate aspect in life,” Marraccini said. “Whether you are a shopper or a commuter you have to be more vigilant when you are walking. Make sure that you are in well-lit areas and have your cell phone ready in case you need assistance. People need an action plan to be more ready for these situations.”

Anyone with information on this incident is being encouraged to call Harrison Police at (914) 967-5111.
