HARRISON, N.Y. – With Hurricane Sandy possibly striking Westchester County next week, Harrison Mayor Ron Belmont said the village is ready. “I’ve been in touch with our emergency services already and we’re all on board,” said Belmont. “We’re watching very closely. We’re in touch with all the bureaus to find out exactly where and when it’s going to hit.
Belmont was hopeful that the storm, currently in the Caribbean, would bypass Westchester County.
“Hopefully, I saw a map this morning, it doesn’t look like it’s coming this way,” he said. “That could change by the minute.” If your power goes out, he said the best place to call is the Harrison Police Department at 914-967-5111. In case of an emergency, call 911. “Police have emergency generators, things of that nature, to make sure everything’s up and running,” said Belmont.
