HARRISON, N.Y. - Cindy Ferri Leckart of Harrison brought her puggle half pug, half beagle - Fonzie to the Brentwood Pool last week. After a long summer, it was his turn to jump in and cool off.
"It was his first time and he sort of liked it," Leckart said about Fonzie's weekend at the pool.
Harrison residents were invited to let their dogs cool off last weekend when the town clerk and Harrison recreation department host the second weekend of the 2011 Puppy Plunge. The event continues with the same days and times this weekend.
Dogs will be permitted to swim throughout the downtown Brentwood Pool on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. as a summer-ending sendoff.
The Brentwood Pool can be reached at (914) 751-8222 and is located on Adelphi Avenue in downtown Harrison.
