HARRISON, N.Y. - Harrison High School seniors Cory Castagna and Nicholas Pecora won third place last week while competing in a local automotive technical competition, the school announced Wednesday.
The seniors are students at the Southern Westchester BOCES automotive technology program and competed in the 2012 Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association Regional Automotive Technical Competition on Jan. 11 in Queens.
Castagna and Pecora will receive scholarships from automotive technical schools because of their efforts and are now eligible to compete in the New York finals, scheduled for Feb. 14.
The event focused on testing students through various diagnostic and repair skills. Students made their ways through eight work stations with hands-on troubleshooting and were tested on basic automotive knowledge.
