HARRISON, N.Y. - The Harrison-Mamaroneck Rotary Club deemed Six Harrison students students of the month for the months of October through December.
The club's "student of the month" program selected two students for each month through an application process to honor them for their academic achievements and service to their community.
Harrison High School seniors Samantha Angilletta and Melissa Goldberg were chosen as the October students of the month, Daniella D'Ippolito and Cayla Pettinato for November, and Stephen Stark and Robert Tiburzi for December.
All six Harrison students were honored at a Rotary luncheon at Emilio's restaurant in Harrison. At the end of the year, two students are chosen from the pool of previous winners for the prestigious "student of the year" award, which includes a $1,000 scholarship.
The students were chosen through written essays as individuals who "exemplify the true Rotary spirit of 'service above self,'" the school said in a statement. Applications for the program are available through the Harrison High School guidance department.
