Harrison to Host Political Meeting for Residents

HARRISON, N.Y. - Residents of Harrison will have an up-close look at various local and county political figures next month when the League of Women Voters of Harrison and the Friends of the Harrison Public Library host a community meet and greet.

The gathering is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Harrison Public Library at 2 Bruce Ave. Refreshments will be served.

Elected officials including Mayor/Supervisor-elect Ron Belmont, Councilman-elect Steve Malfitano and current board members Marlane Amelio, Joe Cannella and Fred Sciliano will be of the many Harrison political names available for residents at the event. Other Harrison names include Town Clerk-elect Jacqueline Greer, Town Judge-elect Nelson Canter and current judge Marc Lust.

County officials will also be in attendance including County Executive Robert Astorino, legislators David Gelfarb, Judy Myers and Bill Ryan, Senator Suzi Oppenheimer, Assemblyman Robert Castelli and Congresswoman Nita Lowey.

The event will also include a final farewell and thank you for retiring Legislator Martin Rogowsky after 13 years of service.
