Because of the work, parking will be prohibited on affected streets from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. “No Parking” signs will be posted 24 hours in advance at all work locations.

The work will be done in a two-step process. The first step, which will be done starting Oct. 15, will coat the road with emulsified asphalt oil then cover the oil with a layer of crushed stone. The crushed stone is then compacted into the oil by use of pavement rollers.

During this time, and for 30 minutes after application, road use will be prohibited. There will be loose stone on the road, so the town asks people to drive slowly until the second part of the process of sealing the road is one. That will take place the week of Oct. 21.

The schedule is as follows:

Oct. 15: Bardion Lane, Bates Road, Caryl Lane, Highfield Road from Crawford Road to South Road, Sunny Ridge Road, Trails End

Oct. 16: Canterbury Road North, CanterburyRoad South, Doreen Place, Frederick Court, Garden Road, Theresa Lane, Willets Road

Sunny Ridge residents, please be advised that due to the Columbus Day holiday, garbage and recycling normally collected Tuesday will be collected Wednesday. Garbage/recycling pickup in the entire Sunny Ridge area shall be performed before the paving work also scheduled for that day. Residents should place all garbage and recycling curbside no later than 6 a.m. Wednesday.
