Harrison To Rock To Metal And Country

HARRISON, N.Y. – Residents of Harrison will be treated first to rock, then country Wednesday and Thursday when Counterfeit Society and The Sundown Band take the stage for the town's Annual Summer Concert Series.

The rock-metal group Counterfeit Society will break out their guitars at Riis Park Wednesday at 7 p.m.

“With their debut CD in its final stages, you may be seeing local talent on the verge of success,” said Dave Franze, who is promoting both concerts. “These guys are not your average garage band.”

The tone shifts a little the next night when The Sundown Band performs its Southern rock. Franze said his “jaw almost hit the table” when he first heard Sundown perform at a February concert in New York City.

“The energy, musicianship, and the perfect rendition of each song” were impressive, he said.

“I've seen Sundown three or four times since their kickoff concert, and they seem to get tighter as the year goes on,” said Franze. “I personally can't wait for this concert.”

They will perform at 7 p.m. at The Village Green.
