The panel of 12 judges includes Westchester native Aja Magnum, New York beauty & fashion editor; Claudine DeSola, owner of Caravan Stylist Studio in New York City; Evan Starkman, MTV personality and host of Cosmo TV's "Love Trap"; and Jennifer Peros, reporter at US Weekly.
“These judges use vital judging criteria, which includes character, poise, confidence and personality for their selections,” said Keith Lewis and Keylee Sanders, co-executive directors of K2 Productions, which runs the pageants. “We are so honored to have such an amazing panel this year and have them be part of our very own girl-a-pa-looza.”
County Executive Rob Astorino is grateful the competitions have returned to Westchester. They will take place Jan. 19-20 at the Performing Arts Center of Purchase College, SUNY.
“I can’t think of a better way to start off the New Year here in Westchester than by bringing back the Miss New York USA® Pageants for the second year in a row,” said Astorino in a news release. “Thanks to the help of many dedicated partners, we are welcoming an event that attracts visitors, brings in tourism dollars and allows us to showcase the great things that Westchester County has to offer – like our spectacular venue, the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.”
Women ages 14-27 can participate in the Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA pageants, which both lead to the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. More than $300,000 in prizes and scholarships will be awarded.
