HARRISON, N.Y. -- The results of state standardized testing for elementary and middle school students top this week's news in Harrison.
- Scores dropped this year on the math and English language arts exams administered to students in grades three through eight. The lower scores are the result of a change in the tests following a switch to the Common Core curriculum.
- Harrison was accused by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development of having zoning laws that segregate against low-income families . Harrison was among the towns identified as lacking zoning laws that encourage affordable housing.
- Harrison's 7,000 residential property cards will soon be available online . The Assessor's Office is currently in the process of scanning all of the cards to make them more readily available to real estate agents, homeowners and appraisers.
