New Light Post and Crosswalks Slow Harrison Avenue

HARRISON, N.Y. - Construction season was in full bloom Wednesday as workers dug into the concrete along Harrison Avenue to begin installing a new light post. The intersection between Harrison Avenue and Calvert Street will be undergoing renovations in the coming weeks and drivers are urged to use caution.

The intersection is also getting a new traffic light post and updated lights with new computers. New crosswalks are also being aligned across the roads as the current ones have faded.

Construction is expected to continue at the location for the next few weeks.

Harrison has had its fair share of road construction this summer and cars have been detoured throughout the downtown area. Work along Interstate 287 was reported in late June, roadside renovations was done in July, a new gas main continues to create traffic on Harrison Avenue and drainage work towards Rye was also taken care of in late August.
