New Rochelle Man Arrested in Harrison

HARRISON, N.Y. – Harrison Police charged a 22-year-old New Rochelle man on Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana.

The police report said that the man was pulled over at 12:27 p.m. at the intersection of Halstead Avenue and Haviland Street because his car windshield was obstructed. When the officer approached the vehicle he smelled marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found a black digital scale with marijuana residue in the drivers’ side door, a water bong in the passenger side door and a clear mason jar with an unspecified amount of marijuana in it in the trunk.

A male passenger was let go after the driver claimed the marijuana was his. The sucpect is due in court on June 5.

Bench Warrant : A 24-year-old man from Port Chester was arrested at police headquarters on Monday on a bench warrant from Harrison Town Court.

Suspended License : A 30-year-old man from the Bronx was issued a summons on Saturday at 12:39 p.m. at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Kenilworth Roadfor for driving with a suspended license. A DMV check showed that the man’s license was suspended for being a scofflaw.

Muffin Dispute : Harrison Police said a 30-year-old Bronx man tried to steal money from a cash register in the cafeteria at St. Vincent’s Hospital, 275 North St., on Friday at 8:13 a.m. The man put a muffin in his pocket and went to purchase a bagel. The cashier charged the man for both items. An argument ensued leading the man to open the cash register and try to grab the money. The man apologized and the staff did not press charges.

Suspended License : A 23-year-old Mamaroneck was issued a summons on May 24 at 8:30 p.m. for driving with a suspended license.
