Recognized as one of America’s top physicians in preventive medicine by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, Katz is also the director and co-founder of the Yale Prevention Research Center.

“DNA is not destiny," said Katz. “We have scientific evidence to show that if we change our own behavior, we can change the behavior of our genes.”

His most recent book, "Disease-Proof, The Remarkable Truth About What Makes Us Well," stresses that people can develop skills to manage weight, improve immune function and reprogram genes to prevent and even reverse life-altering illnesses.

Katz is also an ABC News medical consultant and member of the Huffington Post medical review. He is a two-time diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a board-certified specialist in preventive medicine and public health, and a clinical instructor in medicine at the Yale School of Medicine.

The annual lecture series’ namesake Bob Rosum, RPh., was a respected clinical pharmacist at Greenwich Hospital.

Rosum’s knowledge of medications, herbs and supplements and his commitment to their safe use were an inspiration to colleagues and the community alike.
