NY Thruway Authority Approves Budget, Tables Toll Hike

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The New York State Thruway Authority is deciding whether to raise tolls on the superhighway system until next year after a 2015 budget passed on Friday left a $36 million gap in funding, Democrat & Chronicle reports.

The budget could result in a 5 percent increase in revenue from tolls next year, according to the report. The authority’s board of directors, which voted in favor of the spending plan, did not approve an increase on the 570-mile thoroughfare or the Tappan Zee Bridge, according to the report.
