Port Chester Family Mourns Father, Son Who Died In Two-Week Span

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A Port Chester family is grieving the loss of a father and son who died within two weeks of one another.

An education fund has been set up for the 2-year-old daughter of Roberto Presta, 36, who died Sunday, Dec. 7, after many months battling gastric cancer. 

Presta's 70-year-old father, Luigi, died of complications from surgery on Nov. 21.

Robert Presta of Valhalla grew up in Port Chester. He is survived by his wife, Danielle DiBello Presta, and a daughter, Emily, both of Valhalla.

Presta worked for Broadview Networks in Rye Brook as director of pricing and strategy.

His father, Luigi Presta Sr., was a retired employee of J.J. Cassone Bakery. 

Robert Presta also is survived by his mother, Maria Presta, of Port Chester; and brothers, Luigi Presta Jr., of Stamford, Conn., and Marcello Presta, a police officer in Port Chester.

Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 11, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Corpus Christi Church, Port Chester. Entombment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook.
