HARRISON, N.Y. – Thousands of Harrison residents are still without power, but fewer are in the dark than on Thursday morning. As of 4:08 p.m. Thursday, 5,791 Con Edison customers out of 9,470 were still without power, according to the company's outage map. That is a decrease of almost 600 customers; the number was 6,385 early Thursday morning and 6,358 at about 11 a.m. Throughout Westchester County, many remain without power. Countywide, the number is 153,811 out of 348,198 Con Edison customers, according to the outage map. More than 11,000 Westchester residents have had their power restored since early Thursday morning, when the number was 165,000 and then 163,566 at about 11 a.m. Con Edison released a statement today saying that, due to “unprecedented damage” caused by Hurricane Sandy, a majority of customers will not have their power restored until Nov. 10-11.
