HARRISON, N.Y. -- An $18 million mixed-use real estate project proposed for downtown Harrison would be the town's largest development in recent memory, officials told lohud.com.

The project, currently known as the Harrison Playhouse Lofts Apartment Complex, would include business space on the building's lower level and as many as 42 luxury rental apartments, according to lohud.

As the proposed complex, which would replace the old movie theater on Harrison Avenue, moves through the approvals process, support from many in the town appears strong, according to lohud. At least one group is pushing for a percentage of the proposed housing units to be reserved for affordable housing.
