Purchase Accident Injures Woman, Spills Fuel

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- A woman was rushed to White Plains Hospital after a car accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of Anderson Hill and Glen Park roads at 11:20 a.m.

According to Purchase Assistant Fire Chief Michael Pellegrino, the woman, whose name was not released, was complaining about neck, back and chest pains.

Pellegrino said the woman, who was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe minivan, was heading eastbound on Anderson Hill Road when she stopped for “no reason.” A dump truck roll-off that was traveling behind the minivan slammed into it when the woman stopped, police said. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The accident caused a minor fuel leak from the dump truck but Purchase firefighters said it did not create a hazard.

Harrison Police closed Anderson Hill Road from Century Trail to Glen Park Road for approximately 90 minutes as traffic was redirected while the accident was cleared.
