PURCHASE, N.Y. -- An unidentified woman was rushed to Westchester Medical Center after she was pulled from a vehicle that flipped Wednesday on Interstate 684 in Purchase.
The vehicle was in the southbound lane when it flipped and went off the road at mile marker 3.4 at about 2:20 p.m., officials said.
Purchase Fire Chief Joseph Brefere said the fire department had to pull the woman out from the tailgate of her gray Ford Explorer, which wound up in a ditch alongside the road.
Brefere said the woman, who had been driving the Explorer, was injured but could not specifically what her injuries were.
Brefere said a male passenger was able to get out of the vehicle uninjured before the fire department arrived.
