HARRISON, N.Y. - Nicole Favale is a senior at Purchase College in Harrison and was recognized this week when she won the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival's Grand Jury Award for best student film.
"I was very excited and honored to hear that my film had been awarded at the festival," Favale said. "To have my work recognized, not only by my peers but also industry professionals, is extremely rewarding."
Favale's film, "A Window Into Willard," is based on inmate accounts and doctors' reports detailing the lives of different patients from the Willard Asylum for the Insane in upstate New York. She directed and co-wrote the film as part of her junior thesis.
