HARRISON, N.Y. - Hundreds of locals attended last week's ArtFest Founder's Day Festival at Purchase College's Neuberger Museum of Art to celebrate the life of the museum's founder Roy R. Neuberger, who died in 2010.
The free event was on Sunday, July 10 and included singing, dancing, art-making, and a display of sculptures from Cameroon. Kids were also given the chance to participate in an animal scavenger hunt.
The Bokandeye African-American Dance Theater turned spectators into dancers as audience participation was heavily encouraged throughout the afternoon.
The show was one of the many summer events planned at the museum, including this Saturday's kick-off of the Summer Studio Series. Artist Betsabeé Romero will guide children and adults as they transform cars into art by customizing miniature with everyday objects.
The summer series will run on July 16, 23, and 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
