HARRISON, N.Y. - It's been a swoosh of a season for Harrison's St. Gregory the Great after the team defeated Immaculate Conception of Tuckahoe in the varsity semi-finals 80-55. The team went on to compete in the championship game against Sts. John & Paul of Larchmont in the CYO high school championship game, winning 55-46.

St. Gregory the Great's team excelled throughout the season, posting an undefeated record going into the championship game.

"St. Greg's came out strong building up a seven-point lead, but watched it diminish, going into the half-time break down by one," Cathy Marshall said of the game against Tuckahoe. "In the third, St. Gregory's put on an impressive comeback."

By the third quarter, St. Gregory's players Michael Bronzo and Kyle Davidoff caught fire with several steals and point guard Ryan Lunch moved the ball around the court with authority with four three-pointers along the way.

Davidoff nailed a layup late in the fourth quarter after a full-court bounce pass from Lynch, leaving the crowd in excitement over the play.

Lynch led the scoring with 15 points with Bonzo's 12 points not far behind him. Davidoff finished third in scoring with eight points.

The team walked away with an undefeated record and the championship crown.
