Vehicle Fire, Accidents Cause Delays On Westchester Roadways

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three accidents, a disabled vehicle and a vehicle fire caused delays on local roadways Sunday afternoon.

The disable vehicle, on the soutbound Taconic State Parkway between Peekskill Hollow Road and Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley, blocked the right lane, resulting in stop-and-go traffic. The incident was reported at 4:15 p.m.

An earlier accident on northbound Route 9A in Cortlandt resulted in stop-and-go traffic between Palmer Road and Croton Dam Road.

Two accidents were reported on I-287 -- one eastbound at Exit 9 (Hutchinson River Parkway) and another westbound between Exit 3 (Sprain Brook Parkway) and Exit 2 (Route 9A).

The vehicle fire, reported at 3:05 p.m., was on eastbound Route 35 at the intersection of Adams Hill Road.
