Veteran's Day Parade Coming to West Harrison

HARRISON, N.Y. - Residents will celebrate Veteran's Day this year when a parade makes it way through West Harrison, featuring several honored guests.

The parade is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11 with a line-up beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the parade at 10 a.m. All veterans are invited to march in the event.

Those in attendance will include Veterans Service Officer Ben DeFonce, Harrison Mayor and Supervisor Joan Walsh, General Evo Riguzzi of the U.S. Army, and several local heroes. Other honored guests include John Zilembo, commander of VFW Post 5463, Richard Bertoli, commander of VFW Post 3047, and Joe Mazzulo of the American Legion Carle Anderson 559.

Music will be provided by Rebecca Haviland, who will open the festivities by singing the National Anthem. The Harrison High School Band will also be present in the parade, alongside the three Harrison fire departments and local emergency medical services, police department, boy scouts, and other local groups.
