WEST HARRISON, N.Y. – Westchester Community College will offer English classes for those who would like to learn it as a second language at the West Harrison Public Library starting in September.
“Start the process of learning and actively practicing basic vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and listening skills necessary for daily living, employment, and post-secondary education,” said the flier announcing the event.
The other side of the flier featured the same information in Spanish.
Registration for the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 30. While the course is free, participants will have to pay $35 for two books. At registration, everyone is interviewed and tested to determine their level, the flier said.
The 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. classes begin Sept. 13 and continue every Tuesday and Thursday through Dec. 20. They will all take place at the West Harrison Public Library, 2 Madison St. For more information, call 914-606-5656.
