WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — Even as utility companies struggle to restore the tens of thousands of Westchester County customers still without power from Hurricane Sandy, forecasters say a nor'easter will sock the storm-weary region beginning Wednesday afternoon.

Rain and snow are likely between 1 and 3 p.m., then rain, snow and sleet will fall after 3 p.m. The high temperate will be 39 degrees. It'll be breezy with a north wind of 23 mph and wind gusts of up to 46 mph. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.

On Wednesday night, rain, snow and sleet is expected. After 3 a.m., rain and snow will fall, with a blustery north wind gusting to 47 mph. A high wind advisory has been posted for Westchester County through 4 a.m. Thursday.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say the strong winds will be capable of producing downed trees and power lines.

On Thursday, rain and snow is likely before 10 a.m., with a chance of rain later in the day. It will be cloudy, with a high of 41 degrees. Wind gusts of up to 47 mph are possible during the day and lasting through Thursday evening.
