Andre Faup, 81, Harrison Resident

HARRISON, N.Y. – Andre A. Faup, Jr., of Harrison, died Sunday, Feb. 7. He was 81.

Born and raised in New York City and New Rochelle, he was the son of Lucie and Andre Faup.

He graduated from Iona Prep and from Iona College with a degree in criminal justice. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a weatherman in the U.S. Air Force with the Strategic Air Command.

He spent 22 years with the New Rochelle police department and retired as detective sergeant in 1982. After he retired, he went on to a successful second career as director of security at Iona College, Manhattanville College and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Theresa; his four children, Denise Dreskin (Ron) of Greenwich, Connecticut; Stephen (Kathy) of East Windsor, N.J.; Donna Bailey (Graham) of Riverside, Conn.; and Dianne Faup Salazar (Patrick) of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Dianna and Emily Dreskin, Danielle Faup, and Alexandra and Andrew Bailey; and his brother John Faup of Naples, Fla.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison.
