Clarence 'Buddy' Vaughn, 84, Of Harrison, Army Veteran, Retired Banker

HARRISON, N.Y. – Clarence “Buddy” Vaughn, 84, a lifelong resident of Harrison, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 23.

He was born Dec. 20, 1930, to the late Cyrus and Dorothy New Vaughn of Harrison.

Vaughn served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a banker for the Bank of New York for 40 years, until he retired from that job.

He was a member of the Greenwich American Legion Marching Band for more than 50 years.

He also served as president of the Port Chester Rotary Club. He was a member of the Port Chester American Legion Drum Corps, the Lewisboro Seniors and the Rye Association for the Handicapped.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Neff Vaughn; three daughters, Linda (Michael) Grogan of Tuckahoe, Carolyn (Anthony) Frugis of Ossining, and Cecilia (John) Emblidge of Waterford, Conn.; one son, Christopher (Kelly) Vaughn of East Granby, Conn.; three brothers, Cyrus Vaughn of Beacon; and Paul and Earl Vaughn, both of Gloucester, Va.; one sister, Barbara Ball of Old Saybrook, Conn.; and eight grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, 329 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory the Great Church, 215 Halstead Ave., Harrison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rye Association for the Handicapped, P.O. Box 16, Rye, NY 10580-0016.
