Etta Bafaro, 99, Of West Harrison, Worked In Gimbels Department Store

WEST HARRISON, N.Y. - Etta Bafaro, of West Harrison died Oct. 1. She was 99.

Bafaro was born March 1, 1914, in the Bronx, to Nunzio and Giuseppina (Arena) Salpietro. A member of the Ave Maria Guild and the West Harrison Seniors, she worked as credit representative in Gimbels Department Store for 20 years until her retirement in 1975.

Bafaro is survived by her children, Leonard Bafaro of Stormville and Linda Bafaro of West Harrison; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Flora and Anne. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Vincent, Victor and Virgil; and sisters, Therese, Yolanda and Aurora.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home Inc., 491 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, with Fr. Christopher Monturo officiating at the Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 85 Harrison St., West Harrison.
