HARRISON N.Y. -- Harrison native Bill ("Jeep") Patella, 91,died on Wednesday, July 8, in Seattle, Wash.
The son of Lena and Lawrence Patella, he grew up and attended school in Harrison.
After high school, Patlle enlisted and served in the 58th fighter squadron in Burma during World War II, where he attained the rank of master sergeant. He served from 1941-45.
He is survived by his children, John Patella (Teresa), Sue Patella, and Nanette Craft (Jerry); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and his sister, Mary Stuart of Springfield, Va.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on July 17 at St. James Cathedral in Seattle. Donations in his name may be made to Evergreen Hospice at www.evergreenhospital.org/hospice.
