John Marshall, 70, Of Stamford, Former Harrison Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. — John H. Marshall, of Stamford and formerly of Harrison, N.Y., died Wednesday, Feb. 4. He was 70.

John was born in Port Chester to the late Frederick L. Jr. and Helen (Hay) Marshall.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Baird); son, John Jr. and his wife, Rose; stepchildren, Kim and Todd Spinelli and Bob Degina; brother, Frederick L. Marshall III and his wife, Rita; sister, Katherine H. "Runt" Frattarola and her husband, Robert; five grandchildren; in-laws Bill Baird, Mary Anne Kennedy, Laura Karwosky and husband David and Bonnie Sanchez and partner Sanch; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cousins Ian and Moira of Scotland were also close to his heart.

He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1965-67. After coming back, John worked as a truck driver and a Teamsters Local 456 member, eventually owning a maintenance business that serviced New York Telephone from New York City to Albany.

John's reputation was larger than life, and he was generous to a fault, loving to spend time with his many friends. He was an active member of the Stamford Elks Lodge 899, the Stamford GAC and the American Legion Post 90 of Mamaroneck.

He was previously a member of the Harrison Volunteer Hook & Ladder Company and Freemasons and was no stranger to the Stamford Knights of Columbus.

To honor his life, family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 6, from 4-8 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home,  767 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, N.Y.

Funeral services will take place on 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Harrison Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, N.Y.
