John Piacitelli, 71, Harrison Taxi Co-Owner

HARRISON, N.Y. – John U. Piacitelli of Harrison died on June 9, after a brief illness and a bout of pneumonia. He was 71. 

Nicknamed "John the Beard," he was born Jan. 19, 1941, in Greenwich, Conn., to John Piacitelli and Carmella Imbrogno. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was the co-owner of Harrison Taxi Co. since 1971. 

Piacitelli is survived by two brothers, Billy (Doreen), of Rye, and Michael (Noel), of Bethel, Conn.; a sister, Mary-Lou Clarke, of Red Hook, N.Y.; a daughter, Doreen Piacitelli-Rozman, of Delaware; and two aunts. 

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home in Rye.
